Does anybody have an ISA/PCI motherboard test card?

Andrew Taylor

Does anybody have one of these? I've seen them on Ebay before, they have a 4-digit or so LED display and a beeper, plugs into either a ISA or PCI slot. I have a late 90s Gateway that's been a massive thorn in my side lately; doesn't show any sign of life aside from powering on (fans, LEDs, CD-ROM drives), no POST at all. I'd love to get this thing up and working as it's currently the best machine I have spec-wise for a Win98 gaming machine, and one of these cards seems like the best first step in diagnosing what's wrong. If anyone has one and is willing to bring it to the meeting, please let me know!

Thanks!

I'd be interested in one of the Lo-Tech boards.

Will have dell gx270 towers for anyone interested. Memory and drive available if needed. Also other towers, 2 roughly 2003 timeframe with syntax boards, no drives.
Will be in the truck. Not dumb enough to carry then in, then back out.

Hey Jon,

Could you post a picture of that Dell XT/AT?

Thanks!

Bringing in a couple Lo-Tech ISA ROM boards that I made.  I assembled them - but don't need them.  They include the flash chip for whatever you decide to put on them.  Asking $20/ea.  (They're going for $40 on eBay).

Also, got a nice vintage Dell XT/AT (Earl I think said it was a Northgate keyboard).  Asking $5 which is what I paid for it at an estate sale.

Other odds and ends including an AT&T 1984 Merlin KSU that I can't get working.

Some ATAs for VoIP (I bought them, but am going to just give them away).

See ya tomorrow.

Just wondering if this is the best price. I’m not an Atari expert by any stretch but looks like a great add on - would like to understand the capabilities better though - some aren’t that clear to folks who don’t live in the Atari world...

At this Saturday’s meeting, Brent and I are going to install an Incognito into an Atari 800.
If you’re interested make sure to come and see an expert (Brent, not me) at work.

Yes, Jon's YT install vids are awesome.  Great guy and I had the pleasure of working with him and a few other beta testers on the 1088XEL and 1088XLD projects.  He didn't create the hardware, but the firmware is his creation for Incognito, U1MB, and XEL/XLD.

I have a U1MB, UAV video upgrade, and stereo Pokey board to install in an XL, but have not had the time.  Maybe I can bring that to another meeting to do.  (I haven't decided whether to put those in a 600XL or 1200XL.)

Yeah that was tongue-in-cheek.  I’ve seen Jonathan Halliday’s excellent videos

Incognito is only for the 800.  On the 800xl a similar upgrade is the Ultimate 1MB

thats gonna preclude a lot of sponsorships I'm sure. dunno if lack of 501c3 will affect venues, but it would not be surprised. most of the places I've looked at are not willing to part with services charges and usually have some stipulation about sales. ill keep looking, but most are also booked, or are well above and beyond the 4k limit, granted I'm looking at hotels mostly.
